Poetry...A Gift Of The Senses
Writing poetry came later in my creative life at a time when life made no sense, and I thought the music had left me forever. I dedicate this page to my son Jason Thomas Reid, who passed into the spirit realm on June 30, 2006. He is forever in my heart and soul and on my mind every day. Many of the poems were written during the seasons of grief that never really end, but changes who we are forever.
Poetry saved my life during those darkest of times and showed me a new venue for creative expression and release. From the pits of despair to the heights of elation, poetry was my cornerstone to a new foundation of a life that had lost all meaning. I think it was God speaking to and through me and guiding me to a new home in my heart.
For those of you needing peace, comfort and healing, may these poems show you hope, courage and the strength to go on.
